Overland Mission/ Service Trips
Information
12 July – 2 August 2025
We have a three-week overland mission leaving from Cape Town, South Africa through Namibia to Zambia to serve a local village community on the banks of the Zambezi.
A week exploring on the way up. A week on the ground in a very rural village on the banks of the Zambezi. A week exploring on our way home. We camp all the way and wild camp in Zambia. We will drive through Etosha National Park in Namibia and on the way back have some R&R (rest and recuperation) in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (Namibia, SA & Botswana).
OR, we can tailor make a mission for you if you wish to make the journey at a different time of year.
Focus Areas…
Physical
The days are hot and the nights cold, it’s physically taxing, the days are long, the work is mostly manual labour, and when the day is done you make a fire and cook food and clean up and hopefully there is still hot water.
Personal
The journey, what you will see as we travel, what you will experience in the community and the long chats around the fire cannot but impact you personally.
Social
You will make new friends and deepen relationships as you spend three weeks together with others with very little personal space and personal time. It will feel like family. The only currency is love and grace.
Cultural
If you have not been to rural Africa before you are in for a treat. It is a different world but people and connecting is the same the world over; humility and kindness is the lingua franca. Your world will be shaken but you will come out of it better for the experience.
Spiritual
Things get real quite quickly. When you are out of your comfort zone, out of your social construct, you are challenged by what you see and experience, and you are not in control, then the God who is there and not silent will meet with you as you search for Him with all your heart. Each morning you have time to be with God by yourself. Every evening we spend time in discussions about the day and integrate God into our experience.
