October was a month of lasts for Kevin. His folks had the opportunity to travel overseas and needed him on the farm back home, and so he flew home last week. This is Kevin, the young man whom you will find putting his hand to practical work quickly. This year he broadened his practical skills through new experiences from building roofs to building a church on mission.

A last snorkel off the Pringle Bay coastline. Kev is more comfortable now making his way down and getting up close and personal with fish and all the colourful and varied species of animal life on the rocks.

Kevin can say that he has begun to learn to surf, managing to stand up for short periods and getting to the backline. We have been in small wave conditions as well as large. The water is cold here but when the conditions are right ….

This young man has matured, grown as a man, been challenged, he has grappled and risen to it. The journey has started as Kevin takes his place before God and his neighbour to be one others can depend upon as he depends on the Father.

“I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for the privileges I have, like hot water and basic necessities.” “Experiences have brought me closer to God.” “I’ve grown in communication skills.” “Feeling unsure of what’s next or whether I’m on the right path”. Kevin, you’ve been part of our family, and we have grown to love you, and we pray that the Father will go before you as you follow Him. Can’t wait to see what God does in and through your life.
